- All orders totalling over $75 qualify for free UPS Ground shipping, when a physical home address is provided. For your convenience we offer expedited UPS shipping methods that are calculated based on your zip code; 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air, and Next Day Air. UPS cannot deliver to a Post Office Box or to APO/AFO (Active Military) locations.
If you prefer or require (P.O.Boxes) the US Postal Service, we offer their Priority Mail service for a calculated fee based on package weight and ship-to zip code. P.O. box and APO/AFO addresses are required to choose this service as UPS is unable to deliver to these locations.
Customers with ship-to addresses in Alaska or Hawaii are required to select either USPS Priority Mail or a UPS Air option during checkout. Selecting Free UPS Ground or 3 Day Select will delay your order. Hawaiian and Alaskan ship-to addresses do not qualify for Free UPS Ground or standard shipping. - Canadian Shipping
- Birkenstock of San Diego is pleased to offer international shipping to Canada with USPS's International Express Mail service (EMS). Please understand that our shipping charges do not include taxes or customs fees that may be assessed to your package upon Canadian landing. We are unfortunately unable to keep records of these fees; please use the Canadian Customs webpage to locate and contact an office near you to determine landed costs.
- International Shipping
- Birkenstock of San Diego is pleased to offer international shipping to International destinations with USPS's International Express Mail service (EMS). If you provide an international ship-to address during checkout, please select the International Global shipping method to receive an accurate order total; selecting a different method will delay your order. Please understand that our shipping charges do not include taxes or customs fees that may be assessed to your package upon entry to your country. We are unfortunately unable to keep records of these fees; please contact your local customs office to determine applicable fees.
- Defective or Wrong Footwear
- If you receive footwear which is defective or your order contains the wrong items, please call or email us right away.
- Return / Exchange
- If you're not satisfied with the footwear you've received from us, we'll gladly issue an exchange or refund. All returns and exchanges must meet the following requirements:
- Footwear must be returned within 60 days of the purchase date
- Footwear must be unworn and complete with all packaging
- Packaged in an appropriate shipping carton (Please don't affix postage directly to the shoe box)
- Contain instructions on what you would like done (Exchange or Refund)
Returns received that do not meet these requirements will be delayed, may be rejected, and/or subject to a $20 restocking fee.
Birkenstock of San Diego doesn't require return authorization numbers or notice that you intend on returning an item. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping; just send them back to our Lemon Grove location (Address provided below) via a traceable and insurable shipping method. We ship all domestic exchanges with UPS Ground at no additional cost. Exchanges that require USPS Priority Mail or International postage will be billed for the exchange shipment.

Returned orders are typically inspected and processed within 1-2 business days of receiving them. Your original method of payment will be immediately credited the amount of the returned footwear plus any sales tax paid. Please allow up to five business days before your credit appears on your statement (this period of time is dependent upon your financial institution and is not under our control). Our returns department gets pretty bummed-out processing returns, knowing that we weren't able to help our customers find the perfect shoe; if you'd like to cheer them up, draw a picture of your favorite animal (dragon, unicorn, etc...) and include it with your return!
Attention International Customers / Canadian Customers:
All international orders must ship to the billing address on file with your credit card's issuing bank. We are unable to bill and ship to separate addresses outside of the United States.
